Events on Friday 11th February
“You don't need to have sung Georgian polyphony before, be able to read music, or be able to speak Georgian. All songs are taught by ear. But we will be working towards a programme of regular performances, public workshops, and supras (Georgian feasts), so we are looking for people who want to make a commitment to the music, to the choir and to each other.”

“Have you got words in your head or on paper that get spoken to only that blessed reflection in the mirror? Let those words reign free! Join us at Clifton Community Bookshop for an inclusive, non-judgemental evening of poetry sharing. Opening is none other than Dash, whose words will ring in your chest long after the evening has closed. This month’s theme is “Wonder”. Interpret however your imagination sees fit. See you then.”

“Exciting and entertaining, Chai For All plays Old World Yiddish folk, New World Yiddish theatre songs and jazz-tinged klezmer. A magnificent musical journey from the haunted Eastern European shtetls, through the dimly-lit basement bars of tango-crazed Buenos Aires, to the vibrant neighbourhoods of swinging New York.”

“Experimental artist Lucy Gooch crafts sublime, soaring soundscapes. Her music “joins the atmospheric quality of ambient music with the structure of choral composition and the seeming effortlessness of pop” (Pitchfork). With this she offers a soundworld imbued with delicate mysticism, her harmonic compositions abounding in ethereal vocals, celestial synths and nimble production.”
