“Come along to Bristol Chamber Orchestra’s Spring Concert in the beautiful setting and acoustic of the church of St Mary Magdalene, Stoke Bishop. We begin with Bartók’s selection of Eastern European folk melodies, then a depiction of the English countryside by Vaughan Williams in his jaunty oboe concerto. It will be an honour to welcome rising star oboist Alice Rivers, a native of Stoke Bishop, who is fully involved in the local music scene and will shortly be taking up a place to read music at Cambridge University.”
