Jim Blomfield returns to Fringe Jazz with his brilliant Trio. The band will be playing Blomfield original compositions taken from the trio's critically acclaimed CD's 'Strange Beauty (Every Way OK)' released earlier this year and 2014's 'Wave Forms and Sea Changes' (both on Pig Records). The Trio have been together for almost a decade and have developed an organic level of dynamic interplay in their interpretations of Jim's original contemporary compositions. The music, at times delicate and atmospheric, at others intricate and intense with driving rhythms, rich harmonies, adventurous solo and group improvisations and tight, complex ensemble writing.
