Glyn Maier's enmossed label have been quietly releasing some of the most captivating music this side of the present for a good few years now. By donating all profits to good causes, hand-constructing all releases out of recycled materials and distributing seeds across the planet, enmossed fully embodies the idea of placing community before gain. Maier's ambient electronic works utilise field recordings captured in natural surroundings with organic rhythms and complex timbres, putting a larger focus on the agency of both machine and environment - rarely seen this side of the pond, his transportative live set is not to be missed !
Mysterious local legend DJ Brittle of bliss archive will also be in tow to support, translating their aleatoric sampling system to the live environment for the first time. By ripping up old jazz records and smearing them into something non-linear and unpredictable, they reimagine fragments and memories of the past into a reservoir of gloopy bliss (think how the Caretaker would sound if he wasn't so miserable all the time).
...fresh of the back of the inaugural 'Distortion Gospel' night and sets at St Paul's Carnival, this event will be powered by the newly minted, MASSIVE CGC Soundsystem (do this crew ever slow down?), deploying volume as a means of higher communication and ensuring that the devastating beauty contained in these artists' music can be felt and heard alike.
Sensitivity Sound Program #1 will be the first of an irregular event series dedicated to pairing artists of different backgrounds/sensibilities, highlighting emotion in music and examining the physical power of sound.
