Sunday Social at The Hen & Chicken
See event details

A gig held at The Hen & Chicken on Sunday 4th January. The event starts at 16:30.

A friendly, relaxed social dance for all, with an accent on faster music. Plenty of swingy tunes for the Lindy hoppers together with something a bit more pacey for the bal and shag dancers out there. Come and join us! You can book a Sunday Lunch beforehand or there are Pizzas available at the bar if you get hungry!

*** This sunday has a Free 1 hr Shag practice session beforehand from 3.30-4.30.
It won’t be teacher led. We will put on some shag friendly tunes for anyone who wants to come and practise what they have learnt (or forgotten). The idea is that it's fine to ask someone to remind you how a particular move goes, practise what you did in last month's workshop or have seen on a video or just have a go at getting through a whole tune without too many fluffs. We also encourage those who are more experienced to come along and help other dancers improve! More people to dance shag with! What’s not to like?

Dances generally take place on the first (sometimes second) Sunday of the month with occasional Bal, Shag or Lindyhop workshops beforehand, which can be booked separately. Watch this space for details.

This is a not for profit dance set up by swing dancers for swing dancers. If you want to be a part of it and help grow your local dance community please get in touch.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions
