• CUT_ •
CUT_ is an Amsterdam based electronic music duo consisting of producer Sebastiaan Dutilh and vocalist Belle Doron. The two found each other in their love for electronic music. Inspired by acts like Burial, Mount Kimbie, Massive Attack and James Blake, their music is a response to the English Trip-hop and Bass sound of the past decade with a modern twist. CUT_ has released their EP Patterns in 2014. The new EP is set to be released early 2015, and will be followed by a full-length album in 2016.
PAST..
Besides producing and writing their own songs, Belle and Sebastiaan recorded an English rendition of Stromae’s huge 2013 summer hit Papaoutai. The music video went viral in several European countries and currently has over 1,2 million views.
CUT_ quickly reached their first milestones as a band as Papaoutai got airplay on international radio and TV. CUT_ was invited to do several live performances on National radio (3FM, Radio 1). More-over, music magazine OOR named them ‘OOR Talent’ and even the Belgian maestro himself gave his approval by sharing the music video on his Facebook page.
On September 4th, CUT_ released their first EP Patterns in a sold out OT301, Amsterdam. The release of “Patterns” was supported by an extensive Dutch tour with over 40 shows within 3 months.
PRESENT...
CUT_ is more than just the music. To add an extra dimension to their live show the duo partnered up with programmer/visual artist Hidde de Jong. With Hidde’s live visuals and glitchy effects and CUT_’s ability to improvise, the show becomes a true audiovisual experience.
FUTURE...
Soon after the final leg of the 2014 tour, CUT_ went back into the studio to work on new material. The result is a brand new concept in which the duo continues to explore and defy the boundaries of making and releasing music. A full-length album will be released early 2016, consisting of three chapters, each chapter containing three new songs. The first chapter will be released in the early spring of 2015 as a prelude to the album.
