UNIQUE WHISKEY TASTING FROM 4PM
On Sunday 28th August, Auchentoshan, the only Single Malt whisky to triple distil, is taking its'Auchentoshan Presents' tour to Bristol's Start The Bus for a proper August Bank Holiday party. 'Auchentoshan Presents' is a series of exciting, innovative parties that mix unique whisky tastings with dance floor flailings co-curated by promoters who, like the whisky, will challenge your perceptions. Kicking-off the proceedings this time are Bristol's professional party makers Squeaky Hill, who will bring along a whole host of grown up party games as well as the music. Following Bristol, the series is touring the UK this summer having visited Glasgow and London, and will be taking Leeds and Manchester by storm in the coming months.
Auchentoshan is a whisky that's targeted at guys and girls who enjoy the finer things in life but who might not have tried a Single Malt before. With packaging and branding that are contemporary and sophisticated, it's increasingly the choice of those who want to be educated and knowledgeable about the contents of their drinks cabinet. As a whisky that likes to do things differently, Auchentoshan triple distils every single drop, making it the smoothest and most delicate tasting Single Malt. It likes to work alongside and support like-minded creatives who choose to push boundaries in their fields.
This bank holiday party begins at 4pm with an Auchentoshan whisky tasting; consumers will taste three key expressions of Auchentoshan, trying it with chocolate and also mixed as a long drink with fiery ginger ale and a wedge of orange. As the whisky tasting ends, the music takes over with a fantastic live and DJ line-up to take consumers through the night, including a Live AV set from Hexstatic Presents who will no doubt bring the party to this Sunday evening.
After a summer peddling their silly wares in various fields, clubs and pubs around the UK, Squeaky Hill returns to Start The Bus. The itinerant group of tinkers will be curating the night's fun with their mix of games, oddball antics, and weird and wonderful activities for your interactive pleasure. The agents of mayhem have hosted games such as Human Dog Trials, Crap Face Painting, EXTREME Apple Bobbing, Blind Fold Musical Chairs and Peg Face Championships (to name but a few) with the sole intention of breaking down the shyest of partygoers.
This month's'Auchentoshan Presents' party features Ninja Tune's Hexstatic, who have been making waves for years with their blend of high-energy music and eye-popping visuals. Pioneers of the AV (audio/visual to you non-technophiles out there) DJ set, they paved the way for acts like 2ManyDJs. Flight Facilities join them with their indie-disco sound. While they're over in the UK to play the Annie Mac Presents stage at Creamfields, we've snagged them for this very special appearance. Picture House's remix for Crystal Fighters became a pool party staple for DJs last year when it came out of nowhere, and their first original track is due on out on vinyl label Sccucci Manucci alongside Jacques Renault later this month. Pardon My French DJs will be rounding off the support, delving into disco, house and boogie tunes for the night.
'Auchentoshan Presents' started in summer 2010 at North London institution, The Lock Tavern and has held parties with Kill Em All, Sunday Best, Bloggers Delight, Radio 1 Huw Stephens, Off Modern and Thunder Disco Club. The events form part of a wider series of events and collaborations with creatives including Synth Eastwood, Daydreaming with James Lavelle, Brighton Photo Biennale curated by Martin Parr, Fashion East, Fashion and Film Festival and the pop-up supper club Shacklewell Nights.
