Multiple Maniacs at The Ill Repute
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Free entry! Deviance! Debauchery! Divine! The king of filth for filth’s sake, John Waters rides out on his second feature: a $5,000 romp into the darkest regions of radical free will. The results are completely shocking, utterly tasteless, and predictably hilarious. This is queer punk agitprop cinema at its finest."

A event held at The Ill Repute on Thursday 12th June. The event starts at 20:00.

Step into the depraved, no-budget world of early John Waters with his outrageous 1970 feature Multiple Maniacs - a film that gleefully spits in the face of good taste and drags you into the filth with it.

Starring the one and only Divine as the leader of “The Cavalcade of Perversion,” this is a chaotic, black-and-white fever dream filled with murder, madness, and moments that will leave your jaw on the sticky floor. There’s a reason this one was nearly impossible to see for decades - it’s pure cinematic anarchy!

Expect drag queens, religious hallucinations, sleaze-drenched satire, and a giant lobster (yes, really). It’s loud, it’s dirty, it’s brilliant—and there’s nowhere better to experience it than downstairs at The Ill Repute, where things tend to get a little unholy anyway.

Whether you’re a die-hard Waters fan or just curious what the inside of his twisted mind looks like, Multiple Maniacs is a night you won’t forget (no matter how hard you try).
