A clubnight held at The Jam Jar on Saturday 11th May. The event starts at 21:00.
My butches, women, Non Binary and Trans beloveds. We're grinding and vibing on a SATURGAY NITE for the first time AND trying out a full LGBTQ+ family edition! So if you have a cis gay or bi man friend or lover who's a butch ally, bring them along and we'll show them how we do it. Here's how it's gonna go:
9:00PM: Doors open.
9:00-10:15PM: Catch up with your mates and/or make new ones before lights go dim.
10:15-10:30PM: Welcome and meditation.
10:30-11:45PM: LEXX opens + Guest DJ Electronic from Don't Tell Your Mother.
11:45-2:00AM: Guest DJ Michael V and LEXX on the decks for a big sweaty dance.

Nic is originally a vinyl DJ in the early 90s and often the only female on the line up and now part of the Dot Tell Your Mother (DTYM) crew that have been throwing sold out monthly events in Bristol since 2014. Anyone thats been to a DTYM event will know that Nic's music genres have no boundaries. They've been likened to the kitchen at a house party where everyone always ends up! We’re here for the good times! From ElectroNic you can expect big basslines and an even bigger bounce. Still totally obsessed with playing Renegade Master and will definitely be bringing the ill behaviour.

Y'all, Michael is one of my best friends. He's by far the best cis man ally I've ever met, and a beautiful Queer too. He's visiting all the way from New York and is gonna bless us with his dirty earthy DJ-ing and I can't wait for you to meet him.
Michael strenghthens primal reflexes and unleashes the parts of humans that are not their thoughts. He's unconvinced there is a better way to do this than dance to amazing music. That's why he's a DJ. It’s also why he dances and DJs best to and with crowds that are fully enrolled in an experience that favors substance over substances, expression over expectation, untethered authenticity over feathered superficiality.

THE SPACE
Soft Butch is a safe and held space. You are in good hands: LEXX is trained in somatics-informed DJ-ing and embodied leadership. After the warm up, there will be an opening meditation to bring us into the dance floor. I’ll let you know when the meditation is about to start and there’ll be a moment for you to decide whether you want to stay, move to the back of the room to dip a toe in, or hang out in the chill room until the dance begins.
Unwanted touch, homophobic, biphobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, ableist or ageist behaviour is not allowed. If you feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed at any point, please come talk to one of our Soft Butch crew members (we all wear a fluorescent armband). We will believe you and we will help.
The bathrooms in the venue are all gender neutral.
There will be a photographer. If you don't want to be in pictures used for promotional content, please speak to someone from the team as soon as you arrive on the night.
