Lost Horizon Bristol is honoured to welcome a true icon of UK dance culture as Greg Wilson celebrates an incredible 50 years behind the decks. Beginning his journey in 1975 at just 15 years old, Greg emerged from the original disco era and went on to shape the foundations of modern DJ culture in the UK. From his early residencies at the Chelsea Reach to becoming a pivotal figure in the evolution of electro-funk and the art of mixing, his influence resonates through every corner of today’s dance music landscape.
Greg’s story is woven into the cultural fabric of the past half-century. His career began in a world where funk lit up the underground, disco was still evolving, and DJs played 7" singles long before the rise of the 12". A time before Studio 54, before the Paradise Garage, and before beatmatching reached the UK, Greg was already carving out a space for boundary-pushing, forward-thinking club music. Over the decades, he has remained a passionate documenter, curator, and innovator bridging eras while introducing new generations to the roots of dance culture.
To mark 50 years since that very first booking, Greg launches a worldwide series of anniversary shows from September 2025 into 2026, exploring the full spectrum of sound that has defined his remarkable journey. His Lost Horizon date promises a rare, expansive set that moves from disco and soul to electro-funk, house, and beyond, celebrating the records, scenes, and stories that shaped five decades on the dancefloor.
Joining him on support are Whitts and DJ Hans, both bringing their deep musical knowledge and groove-led selections to complete an evening dedicated to the past, present, and future of club music.
