Based in Bristol, UK, Soma Soma are made up of Brazilian and British musicians and sing in Brazilian Portuguese. The vocal performances are powerful and emotive, conveying the passion of the music even for those who don’t understand the language. Their music combines Brazilian styles such as the rhythmic drive of Samba, the smooth melodies of Bossa Nova, and the soulful sway of Arrocha with the vibrant energy of African Highlife, the groove of Afrobeat, and the infectious danceability of Soukous.
