THE BRISTOL SISTERS SHOWCASE In honour of International Women’s Day, two female-led bands showcase the unique sounds and voices of some of Bristol’s talented women. Let’s come together to support our sisters and stand proudly by their side. The Roll-Ups present A BRISTOL SISTERS SHOWCASE The Roll Ups Ember & Sentient Sound Orca-Lee International Women's Day Saturday 8th March 6pm - 10pm The Jam Jar, Bristol ORCA-LEE Orca-Lee is a Bristol-based singer-songwriter whose sound is deeply inspired by the soulful spirits of iconic female R&B artists such as Erykah Badu, India Arie, and Lauryn Hill to name a few. Blending her love for R&B and soul with influences from a wide range of genres, Orca-Lee delivers emotive and authentic performances. Joined by her close friend and exceptional guitarist, Ben Parfait, the duo brings her original songs to life with acoustic renditions that are captivating and intimate. EMBER & SENTIENT SOUND A vibrant band born from the fertile music scene of Bristol and led by Ember, a soulful and rhythmical songstress with a deep message to spread. Bringing delectable bass lines alongside an afro-beat and hip-hop-inspired rhythm section, beautiful melodies and desert rock guitar licks that will hit the spot and make you quiver. Not one to miss if you want to get sassy and shake a tail feather! THE ROLL-UPS Fronted by two Powerful Women, The Roll Ups make no apologies for their raucous energy and uplifting sound. Born from the love of a wide range of musical styles and genres, they cut and paste Soul, Funk, Hip-Hop, Jazz and more to create their very own 'Junk' music that is sure to impress. Expect the unexpected as theatrics trick and treat your ears and hips. Their songs are a reflection of all of us, from the great highs to the great lows, exploring the breadth of human discovery and, of course, love. As well as showcasing their full set of original tunes, there may be a couple of surprises in store, truly flaunting the immense capacity for talent amongst the Women of Bristol.
