Vocal+percussion ensemble Tryani Collective forge Mediterranean folk traditions with the raw spirit of English lyrical heritage and medieval harmony, building to a state of rhythmic hypnosis that is cinematic, percussive, and deeply human. The band features Nicky Barry, Rowan Elliott, Roland George Harrad, Suzi MacGregor, Beth Roberts and Danny Tryani.

Beth Roberts writes alt-folk bangers that tell the story of her post-religious life. Her magnetic voice soars over intricate banjo patterns, underscored by subtle drums (Rowan Elliott) and intertwined guitar lines (Danny Tryani). She’s previously opened for Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp at Jam Jar, and also supported Ye Vagabonds on tour.

Since Tryani Collective last headlined Jam Jar in 2025, they’ve performed to rapturous audiences at Shambala, Fanny’s Meadow, Green Scythe Fair and Ashburton Arts, honing the ecstatic precision of their set; their return on October 21st feels like a homecoming for some of the most compelling musicians on the Bristol music scene.
