A
gig
held at The Jam Jar
on Wednesday 6th April. The event starts at 19:00.
This is a tribute night in honour of my mum, who passed away 3 years ago on 6th April.
I will be performing an album from Mum's favourite hip swinging, denim donning, bandana bearing, sweat-drenched rock musician of all time: "THE BOSS" Bruce Springsteen.
We have a full band line up with some of Bristol's finest musicians and some of my closest friends. I invite you all to join in celebration with me as we play the most 'Merican long player records to have ever existed this side of the last ice age, "BORN IN THE USA". All proceeds are going to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Some background:
In 2019 I lost my mother, Bernie, after only a short battle with cancer. The cancer was malevolent and apathetic towards Mum's life and had no problem destroying it and the lives of everyone around her. It was an extremely rare form of cancer and doctors, experts and researchers had never come across it before. There was nothing we could do. Cancer is increasingly affecting more and more people's lives and this is a story I am sure we are all too familiar with.
Macmillan isn't a research charity, they don't find the cure. Instead they are the ones who give you direct support and the tools to prepare for the journey ahead. It's the yucky stuff, the stuff no one wants to talk about but these guys truly are with you "every step of the way".
