LIVE MUSIC WITH LEONIE EVANS, ERIKA LEWIS AND STEVEN PARIS
Leonie Evans is a superstar of the Bristol blues scene (and beyond). Born & raised on the edge of South East London & Kent, she's a multi instrumentalist, singer songwriter who started performing at the age of 5 and has never stopped. Her music draws deeply on blues, jazz and folk traditions, expressed through her unique vocal and musical talents.
Erika Lewis has been churning out American originals all her own for the past several years. From classic country to cosmic Americana to dreamy indie folk, Lewis continues to dip her toes more deeply into an ever-expanding pool of roots music styles. Her new record A Walk Around the Sun, is a testament to Lewis' songwriting prowess and exceptional vocal ability. On this tour she is joined by her pal songwriter and guitarist Steven Paris, all the way from Italy. The harmonies and dimension added from his accompaniment as well as his own beautifully crafted originals will make for a most enchanting sound and show for this night of blues, folk, country, and originals.
BLUES BOAT PARTY
We're floating in Bristol harbour in an actual ship with a licenced bar, one of our favourite venues and a traditional haunt of Cider House Blues festival each winter. We expect it to be warm on the dancefloor and cool on deck - so layer up! There's a small car park outside.
BLUE MONDAYS
We're a community of dancers who meet once a week to dance the blues, with an hour of classes followed by two hours of dancing together. Blues is a great way to get into partner dancing, with a gentle learning curve and degendered teaching we make sure there is space for everyone and guarantee that by the end of your first session you'll be grooving to some great tunes on the social floor.
