Perpetually Stew at KIT FORM
See event details

A event held at KIT FORM on Thursday 4th June. The event starts at 20:00.

This June you are invited to the 13th instalment of Perpetually Stew, a Bristol-based event series platforming artists who use performance and movement in their practice.

Each month we invite a selection of performance artists to explore new or old work in an intimate gallery space, and off the opportunity engage afterwards in constructive feedback on each other’s craft.
Practitioners of all skill levels and experience are invited to join us at KIT FORM and duly stew.

On Thursday 4th of June we’ll be hosting a fresh cohort of artists from across the UK to share their work at KIT FORM gallery including: Mary Hurrel, Edie grey & Evo Ethel and Paula Davy.

Mary Hurrell is an artist and composer based in Bristol, working across experimental music and performance. Her practice explores forms of language, movement and voice in relation to physical and psychological experience. Hurrell released her debut album FORMATIONS in 2024, with recent live performances at venues and festivals including En Masse Festival, Bristol Beacon, Strange Brew, Cafe OTO, The Old Hairdressers and Jupiter Rising Festival. Her work has been exhibited and commissioned by institutions including Pallant House Gallery, motor dance journal, Nicoletti Contemporary, and Flat Time House; with residencies at Britten Pears Arts, PRAXIS (Spain), Gilfélagið (Iceland) and Yamakiwa Gallery (Japan).

Evo Ethel is a Welsh multi-instrumentalist, sound artist, and improviser currently based in Bristol, their solo practise weaves together elements of free-jazz, musique concrète, and electro-acoustic experimentation; often using objects, woodwind, and electronics to craft fractured soundscapes layered with improvised, noise led, multi-phonic woodwind. As a co-founder of the ‘No Clique’ event series with Improv’s Greatest Hits, Evo collaboratively curated evenings of one off, spontaneous musical groups championing an ethos of unpredictability, and community led experimentation. (Group projects include: Ex Agent, Foot Foot, Zalizo, The Fullwit Pop Up Trio)

Edie grey is a multidisciplinary artist and musician based in Bristol, whose work humours and confronts the human experience, exploring the fragility of fleeting moments, joy, pain and grief. With a background in fashion design, Eadie often subverts traditional textile techniques to explore internal fragmentation and material attachment; developing Iconography and visual languages to tell stories.

Paula Davy is a solo live artist, from a background of political activism and protest. Her works could be described as live art happenings, relying heavily on experimental practises and processes and creating transitory outcomes. Paula describes herself as ‘an angry young woman yet continue to fiercely deny the term feminist’.
