A event on Saturday 4th July. The event starts at 19:30.
Cuban Food & Film Night at La Cubana.
Five years ago, we started our Cuban Food & Film evenings as pop-up events around Bristol. Today, we're delighted to bring this much-loved experience back home to La Cubana, where food, culture and community come together.
Join us for a unique evening celebrating Cuba through its flavours and one of its most iconic films, Fresa y Chocolate (Strawberry and Chocolate).
Released in 1993, Fresa y Chocolate is considered one of the greatest Cuban films ever made. Set in Havana, it tells the story of an unexpected friendship that explores themes of identity, tolerance and freedom, offering a beautiful insight into Cuban society and culture.
We're also honoured to welcome our special guest, Peter Bush, former Director of the British Centre for Literary Translation and former Vice-President of the International Federation of Translators. With his long-standing connection to Cuba and his work translating the screenplay of Fresa y Chocolate into English Peter will lead a special Q&A after the screening, sharing fascinating stories and insights into the film and Cuban culture.
Your ticket includes:

One drink of your choice
