Lakota Live Presents....
DAEDULES ARCHIMEDES SHOW
+
ANCHORSONG ( With Full Live String Quartet)
----------------------------------
What?
Marking its European debut, Archimedes is an intricate mechanised wall of moving mirrors which twists lights and flips images projected from its base in time with the music.
'Live electronic music is still in its infancy truly; years of pioneering efforts by groups like Kraftwerk, The Orb [and] Chemical Brothers have taken important formative steps defining what it means to be onstage, computer- or synthesizer-assisted, ' Daedelus, aka Alfred Darlington, tells http://www.Wired.co.uk.
'But only in the last ten years have we really begun to both have tools in hand that allow the music to start transcending the computer and the visuals to break out of those previous paradigms of a rock light show, or rave clich . '
Adding that Archimedes'allows for some very complementary motion', he remarked: 'My live show is mostly about auditory long shapes, slow inclines, melodic release and some noise-y climax. '
Anchorsong aka Masaaki Yoshida - has become globally recognised for his unique live shows, which many people have described as"like watching a painter drawing on a white canvas", as he creates electronic music completely live using a sampler (MPC2500) and a keyboard, right in front of the audience. While he mainly performs solo, he frequently augments this setup with a string quartet, for a truly spellbinding show.
