A
clubnight
held at LEFTBANK
on Saturday 1st June. The event starts at 20:00.
Aloha tropicalistas, sending a mighty huge THANK~YOU to all who came and made our Thekla event so special last month! Before the summer really gets going we have one last Bristol session planned at our original home... our beloved LeftBank Bristol. For this more intimate session we welcome a special guest from London, DJ Lorioca, with her badass Baile Funk and Carnival Rhythms! Jambada (AKA main man Joel of The Jam Jar Bristol) with his favourite World Music infusions, and of course our DJ Hiphoppapotamus with his sunshine bangers!
As per usual we'll be decking out the LeftBank Bristol into a tropical paradise and laying on the leis, limbo and GOOD VIBES!
A little something about the DJs....
~ DJ Hiphoppapotamus ~
Tropical Tea Party's chief noisemaker and music programmer, if you're familiar with us at TTP I'm sure you already know about him and his love for fusing tropical sounds with all forms of dance music. And with many new releases in the pipeline you can expect hear exciting new fusions of Afro Jungle, Brazilian Liquid and Global Bass.
~ DJ Lorioca ~
Heading up the mischievous group of female performers known as POMBA GIRLS you may well have caught this lady creating some wild and colourful shapes on a festival stage before (you might just spy her in our round-up video from EE last year!.. https://bit.ly/2Yehifk ) But not only is she a talented dancer and young entrepreneur but also a solid DJ armed with a serious collection Baile Funk and Carnival Beats inspired her times spent in South America!
~ Jambada ~
Jambada AKA Jolly Rodger AKA the Jam Jar's main man Joel Williams has been a friend of the TTP for quite some time and we cant wait to have him for his first set with us! I'm sure most of you are familiar with The Jam Jar Bristol and their most wholesome and rootsy musical ethos, and naturally you can expect much of the same from the man... with a selection of his favourite World Music infused goodness!
Entry is £5 before 9.30pm or £7 after. Apologies that there are no pre-sale tickets due to Leftbank's size, so be sure to get down early to guarantee entry and the first 100 people through the door get a free lei (Hawaiian flower necklace).
