event
held at L'Étoile Studio
on Friday 17th January. The event starts at 20:00.
In the performance "Fluttering Colours" BSP explores the impacts of climate change through the lens of the monarch butterfly, whose epic migrations are disrupted by rising temperatures, extreme weather, shrinking food and water sources. This multimedia experience combines singing, live painting, spoken word, and video projections to immerse audiences in the butterfly's journey, paralleling it with broader themes of resilience and adaptation. Climate change migration refers to the movement of people forced to relocate due to environmental changes like rising sea levels, floods, droughts, extreme weather, and land degradation. In 2018 alone, approximately 17.2 million people were displaced globally because of climate and weather-related disasters. This number is expected to rise as climate change intensifies, affecting communities and creating widespread social, economic, and political challenges. It is a global issue that demands urgent action across all levels of society.
"Fluttering Colours" serves as both a visual spectacle and a poignant reminder of the urgent need to address climate change to protect ecosystems and the interconnectedness of all life forms. Through her unique fusion of art and technology, FC delivers a message that is as inspiring as it is thought-provoking.
