"Cirrina Sessions return to clubland with their oozing dub-techno metamorphosis, drifting somewhere between aquatic bass and meditative experimentation. Buckle in for Beatrice M’s wonderfully slick, immersive 140bpm bassweight, Mackenzie’s late-nite industrial-tinged techno freakouts, all primed by an opening Casino Flats & Fez the Kid b2b of downtempo hypnotics."

A
clubnight
held at Loco Klub
on Friday 20th February. The event starts at 22:30.
I can't find what it felt like I always had in Bristol; I have memories of lost futures. At 4 on the floor I'm not interested; at dubstep and breaks I don't feel. I want synthesis without numbness, to burrow into each other's territories and take what they can.
So we had to make it happen. For our next party we’re heading underground to Loco Klub for a night driven by pressure, pulse and deep hypnotic movement — headlined by Beatrice M.. Her hypnotic European broken beats weave tightly with the weight and legacy of classic dubstep, expect rolling low-end and trance like momentum that locks you in and doesn’t let you go.
Alongside we have Northfield Records and Corn head honcho Mackenzie, he steps up as our co-headliner with a sound forged in Bristol’s low-end dubbed-out tradition. Support from Fez the Kid and Casino Flats.
Beatrice M.
Born in France to English parents, Beatrice M. creates a signature blend of syncopated UK-genres (mainly dubstep), with trancy technoïd groovers, and balances old school elements with crisp and contemporary sound design. The Bait label head aims to push and merge these same sonics through their imprint, which results in an output of snare heavy bass music and immersive psychedelic techno.
Mackenzie
Delusions, fantasies, conspiracies — what on Earth happened last year? Mackenzie brought Sandwell District, Rrose and Black Merlin to Brew; released a stellar cassette with Pessimist on Northfield; and closed En Masse and Timedance 10 years. He may have single handedly saved minimal techno in Bristol. Both a master of energy building openings and peak time sets; melding a driving abrasion indebted to the early Birmingham sound and the clean atmospheric tones of European techno, whilst somehow remaining the epitome of the Bristol underground sound.
Casino Flats & Fez the Kid
Straight off a closing set at The Island this past November, Casino Flats and Fez the Kid step up once again for a b2b; this time delving into hypnotic, downtempo modulations. Expect Casino Flats' minimal techno and deep breakbeat inflections subverted and broken by Fez the Kid's dubbed-out atmospheric bass.
