Innovation in Sound 2025 at Loco Klub
See event details

A gig held at Loco Klub on Thursday 1st May. The event starts at 13:00.

Our end of year showcase is the culmination of the work undertaken by our third year production students at dBs Institute.

Tasked with exploring the innovative and experimental side of sound and music, this free exhibition sees our students pushing their creative boundaries and working outside of their comfort zone.

Projects will include immersive audio-visual experiences, multichannel soundscapes, installations and experimental live performances.

This year's showcase includes:

Accumulation - A generative music piece that is driven by chess moves performed by visitors to the exhibit. Created by Noah Park-Roesel.

Where do I belong? - A multichannel work exploring the places that make Sara feel at home and those that don’t in both Bristol and your hometown in Italy. Created by Sara Aquino.

Not Musical Chairs - A non-linear, interactive 8.1 exhibit that creates a generative composition based on visitor inputs through contact mics, gyroscopic data and cameras. Created by Josh Squires and Jack Thompson.

‘The Final Strike: The Fading Spark of the Blacksmith’ - A 15-minute multichannel soundscape that charts the journey of a blacksmith across the ages. Created by Johnny Mooney.

The Lorg Mór - An experimental, gesture-based live performance using DIY instruments. Created and performed by Hannah Flannigan.
