A clubnight held at Lost Horizon on Friday 17th November. The event starts at 21:00.

La Bomba is proud to present a return list from psychedelic Afrobeat giants, The Scorpios. On their last visit to Bristol in 2021, The Scorpios tore the roof of Lost Horizon with seismic waves of synth, dangerous levels of bass, all topped off with the sweetest vocals - we welcome them back so they can shake the foundations as well!

The Scorpios are a band originally form Sudan that melds Arabic rhythms and guitar chops (and a kind of swooning cyclical ecstasy) with a raw Eastern funk feel, properly dismantling cultural barriers in pursuit of a unifying rhythmic bliss. Heavy bass, synths, horns and percussions drive through traditional Sudanese forms to create a sound that owes as much to Detroit as it does to Khartoum.

Fred Kramer from Belgium is one of Europe's hardest-working crate-diggers, running both the Souma Records and Radio Martiko labels. His DJ sets are 100% vinyl and draw from his extensive collection of rare and often undocumented records he gathered during numerous digging trips over the past decades.Balkan / Romani music / Greek Tsifteteli / Turkish PsychFolk & Taverna Pop / Egyptian Shaabi & Sufi music / Vintage Belly Dance / Rai / Rhythm & Blues / 60s Beat & Garage / Funk & Soul / African & Caribbean Jazz, Highlife & Calypso / Biguine / Boogaloo / Congolese Rumba / Son Montuno /Mambo / Cumbia / Salsa / Merengue / Forró / Soukous / Mandinka / Benga / Funana / Shangaan / Bollywood / Lollywood / Kollywood / Sundanese Pop & Traditional / Melayu / Luk Thung
