Body in Alchemy is a conscious rave series focused on RELEASING + RELATING through the BREATH + MOVEMENT. These sessions guide us to suspend the performance of identity used in our day to day lives, while celebrating the courageous act of presence. Accompanied by live sonic scapes we rediscover FREE PLAY through communal dance for ALL BODIES, with a focus on deconstructing the normative.
Skills you'll encounter in this session: guided visualisation, improvisation, contact improvisation, guided body work, peer embodiment explorations, release dance technique.
About
Body in Alchemy are deconstructing movement experiences, encouraging the daily practice of co-regulation. In these sessions we can allow ourselves to be wrapped in ecstasy of the moment, as we are called to stay present. Staying present can often feel inaccessible, especially for bodies continuously displaced. Being alive 'of breath' is an act of choosing to stay present. Here we celebrate this journey of accepting the gift of life 'the connection between breath and body' as a courageous act. The experience feeds the inseparable relation between the loops of live sound, body, and our environment, vibrating in harmony.
"Even as we stand crooked, or can't stand at all, we are whole and choosing to stay PRESENT. It is in the HOW we can be present that we can begin to dissect the luxury of privilege and the lack thereof"- Lee Rose
Times:
Arrival 2pm, session 2:30 - 4pm
The bar is open for drinks until 5pm

Lee Rose - Movement Director/Performance Coach-Educator/Choreographer
Lee is a Movement Architect, experimenting and facilitating the coregulation between Body and Space. He guides bodies to return to the base from which all movement comes, our breath. Actively and gently reminding us how to use the lifeline of our breath as initiator and resolver. Such an approach to movement taps into an ancient wisdom that is sustainable for bodies in body professions, but too for bodies in day to day living. Lee has over 10 years of engaging with body including his own. Holding and sharing space for us, he encourages us to layer and unlayer, engage and disengage in the facades we use in performing and portraying multiple selves and characters. He coaches in performance (artists/models/dancers/actors) helping them to have a better focus in relating to others, engaging with objects, matter and technology.
Sippin T - Live Sound Artist: DJ
Sippin T is a Visual-Sound Artist, DJ and Queer Cultural Space Maker who curves vortexes of stimulation using audio waves of the Global South. They are a channel, linking fellowship between vibrations and visuals, reclaiming textures, fusing the sonic exhales of nature with technology, giving us an electronic output. This existencial experimentica, of past and present day, holds us in an ambient state, alluring bodies to find home 'club' within.
