A
clubnight
held at Lost Horizon
on Saturday 9th March. The event starts at 22:30.
SLIPPIN' - A NEW OLD DRUM N’ BASS NIGHT FOR BRISTOL - LIQUID FUNK, PROPER ROLLERS, JAZZY & DEEPER DnB SOUNDS 1997-2008!
NU:TONE - ZERO T - NATHAN WORM + STAINLESS STEVE (HUGO HARVEY)
So we got thinking, there is a crazy amount of great music from the post-Jungle and pre modern era, that seems largely overlooked here in the contemporary club or DnB scene. Music that soundtracked the millennial youth growing up with mix CDs, Napster & Limewire & phones pre-touchscreens or Instagram!
The early 2000s were an incredible time for the deeper, groove-led, soulful, funky side of the genre championed by Fabio. Artists like Calibre, DJ Marky, DJ Flight, Alix Perez, High Contrast and our headliners all made their initial big waves during these years!
We reckon so much of the deeper or funkier DnB from the early to mid 2000's sounds just as exciting, fresh and brilliant 20+ years on as it did then. It’s aged well & not many people are giving it the respect it deserves. We're super excited to hear all the brilliant tracks from this era, properly loud on a good club system again!
So, SLIPPIN’ is for those who want a different type of DnB night in Bristol right now. We want you to help us create a night that’s vibesy and friendly...one that leaves you feeling GREAT with the full range of DnB sounds on offer!
So we welcome scene legends/stalwarts Nu:Tone (Hospital Records) and Zero T (Metalheadz/The North Quarter) to be our first ever headline DJs at SLIPPIN…
Rounding off the line-up will be DJs Nathan Worm (Worm disco club/Bubble) and Hugo Harvey aka Stainless Steve of ’The Intergalactic Travel Agency’ crew.
Tickets are 12/14/16 adv … limited £10 early entry ’support the support’ tickets are also available!
Info: Doors are 10.30pm - the event runs until 4am! Last entry is 2am...
Expect top quality and addtional sound, great lighting, posters, cocktails, and other little surprises all for a great night at the ever brilliant Lost Horizon!
