A somatics-infused night celebrating butchness, for all women, Non-Binary and Trans folk to dance freely together.
7:30PM: Doors open.
7:30-8:30PM: Catch up with your mates and/or make new ones before lights go dim.
8:30-9:00PM: Drag morris dance troupe Molly No-Mates.
9:00-9:10PM: Pole dance performance by Zoonii.
9:10-9:20PM: Join the meditation to tune into your body and feel into what’s there, or hang out in the chill room until you’re ready to D.A.N.C.E.
9:30PM: Last entry!
9:20-11:30PM: LEXX on the decks for a big sweaty dance.

Zoonii is multi-talented circus performer, specialising in aerial pole, handbalancing, and juggling. After years of training in the USA, they moved to the UK and have been coaching, dancing, and competing in the London/Bristol scene. They are psyched to be back at Soft Butch and hope to break your hearts with a lyrical piece on spinning pole.

Molly No-Mates is Bristol’s premier queer, genderfuck, drag king Morris dancing team. They were formed by a handful of Morris dancers and singers who wanted a way to honour their folk traditions while expressing their personal and political queerness and having a big sweaty dance with their friends. They are working on finding the queerest folk songs out there, writing their own songs and dances, and queering the Morris in every way they can.

LEXX whips the finest Reggaeton, Afrobeat, Dancehall, House and Drum & Bass into sets that sweat and reset. She will throw you into the deep end and you will love it. LEXX's dance floor is a space for those of you who know there's more to life. A sexy space where gender gets bent and all beings are held in love. A space where you can dance freely to meet your struggle and release it all. Come get it.
ACCESS:
Lost Horizon is a fully accessible venue. The public areas are set out on a single level with wheelchair access to all areas of the venue. The accessible toilets have ramped access and are designed for wheelchair access. The entrance to the venue has a dropped curb and is at pavement level / step free.
Support workers are allowed free access to the venue. This needs to be arranged prior to the event via [email protected] where a carers pass can be arranged. These are subject to availability / capacity so please ensure you book in advance and contact the venue as soon as possible if you require an access pass.
If you need a dog to assist you within the venue then please let us know prior to the event and we will arrange the correct assistance upon your arrival. We may need proof that the dog is registered with or is a member of Assistance Dogs UK.
Please be aware that strobe lighting, fog and hazer machines may be in use.
If you'd like a chair, please contact us on [email protected]. We'll have it labelled with your name and ready by the stage for you to collect when you arrive. If you need help setting it up, speak to a member of the Soft Butch team - anyone wearing a fluorescent armband.

Here's some intel: Lost Horizon is not only a wheelchair accessible venue, it's also a much bigger venue than where we usually are. And bigger means pricey-er. THE SPACE:
Soft Butch is a safe and held space. You are in good hands: LEXX is trained in somatics-informed DJ-ing and embodied leadership. After the warm up, there will be an opening meditation to bring us into the dance floor. I’ll let you know when the meditation is about to start and there’ll be a moment for you to decide whether you want to stay, move to the back of the room to dip a toe in, or hang out in the chill room until the dance begins.
Unwanted touch, homophobic, biphobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, ableist or ageist behaviour is not allowed. If you feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed at any point, please come talk to one of our Soft Butch crew members (we all wear a fluorescent armband). We will believe you and we will help.
The bathrooms in the venue are all gender neutral.
There will be a photographer. If you don't want to be in pictures used for promotional content, please speak to someone from the team as soon as you arrive on the night.
