"Sell out warning! Few have done more to platform Arab music in Europe than Habibi Funk, smashing worn-out pre-conceptions with joyous 80s Cairo funk, dusty boom-bap from Beirut, and Libyan reggae scorchers. It’s been a hot second since Sturtz has been in town, so fever will be high for these obscure dancefloor gems and hard-won digging artefacts. Come get schooled by a true globe-trotter!"

HABIBI FUNK
It's been 5 years since the label head honcho visited Bristol, the now globally acclaimed record collector and DJ heads back to Lost Horizon for an Easter Thursday extended set.. He'll be joined by a few specail guests along the way too.
Spanning a plethora of genres from funk, soul and jazz to punk and hip-hop, Stürtz unearths hidden gems released in the 1960’s–80’s across the Middle East and North Africa, reissuing the records in eclectic compilations for the modern listener, as well as more recently releasing music from musicians in the current day.
His reputation and demand as a DJ have been increasing in equal measure in recent years, with the Habibi Funk sound holding a unique place in the dance music world and his high energy, vinyl-only sets connecting with fans in ways that are deep, personal and long-lasting.
