Restless Punk Gig at Lost Horizon
See event details

A gig held at Lost Horizon on Thursday 5th October. The event starts at 19:00.

This is Viv Gordon Company's first ever gig! We've just written and recorded a cycle of 8 punk songs as part of the Restless project. The lyrics have been written on a series of long distance walks on the South West Coast Path and follow Viv's autobiographical journey from abuse to activism. Restless is an arts activism project that uses coastal landscapes to talk about survivor journeys. The central idea is the restless unstoppable sea that keeps going no matter what and over time changes the landscape as a metaphor for activism and the power of continuous collective action.

Viv will be performing alongside the project's composers Tom Johnson & Quinta, with Andy Hamill on bass and Sean Randle on drums.

This is a Work in Progress Sharing, to get the work in front of an live audience, to receive feedback, and for Viv to front a punk band for the first time! It is a supportive event, about testing new work and seeing what's been created to date on this project.

In the future we imagine this being a large scale outdoor show, with spoken word, aerial performance and punk music.

Gig timings: Doors at 7pm. Gig 7.30pm. DJ after until 9pm. Event end 9pm
Age 18 +

CSA survivors, friends and allies welcome. The work contains strong and stirring content. There will be wellbeing support and signposting information available for anyone who needs it.

This is a "Pay What You Can" event with a suggested donation of £5. All donations of any size are gratefully received. We do not want money to be a barrier to attendance so please do not make a donation unless you can do so comfortably. Conversely, if you are in a position to support others attending, larger donations are always very welcome.
