About Carly:
Carly Brinkman is creative at heart and has always been led by her curiosity. Entering and winning local poetry competitions as a child to appearing on radio shows, magazines, tv and films as an adult, her creativity has taken her down many paths.
After completing her BA Hons in Journalism, she became Communications Officer at her University where she edited, designed and wrote for the student magazine. She trained as a Primary School Teacher and taught in the UK and Vietnam.
In both Schools, she entered an International film festival ‘Cinemasports’, where you are given three words and have to write, shoot, edit and submit your shot film in 72 hours.
In Brighton she co-wrote, performed, and stage-managed a play for the Brighton Fringe called ‘Pandademic’, about two panda’s navigating the horrors of Covid. She completed a 12 week stand up comedy course and a 12 week improv course.
She has finished her debut novel and has begun working on her new novel.
