[If any/all of these sound new to you, you're very welcome to join and explore! There's more information that you may find useful on www.anastasia.earth]
I'm a dance and performance artist, and in these weekly classes, I’ll share what moves me in my current practice. We’ll begin by exploring the organs of the Central Nervous System: the brain and the spinal cord. Together, we’ll explore how we can find support in these organs of our bodies through poetic anatomy, guided improvisation, and specific forms. Personally, I find that pouring attention into these organs allows both surrender and buoyancy in my relationship with gravity, soft fluidity too, — and pleasantly anchors my upper body into the pelvis, inviting a sense of unified, connected movement. Focusing my awareness there also opens up my perception to the wide space around me.
We’ll explore questions like:
How can my somatic* awareness of these organs support my movement — improvised and within specific forms?
Where can it offer more ease?
What qualities does this focus bring into my movement?
Guided by joy and curiosity, we’ll explore how we can refine our attention to the self, space and each other.
Adults of all ages and abilities are welcome! If you have any questions or would like anything clarified, please contact me through the contact form on my website www.anastasia.earth
You can also check out my instagram @anastasia_dal and Substack @anastasiadal to get to know me a lil bit through the digital realm.
*For the purposes of this class, I'll define "somatic" as 'a living body experiencing itself'. Not a body seen and analysed by an external gaze, not “my” body, but a body-me.
You can purchase each class as a one-off, or all 6 of them as a course.
