Maths Up The Mountain

Brook Tate is a painter, musician and theatre maker who now and then turns into a zebra called Debra. This certain zebra just so happened to lead Brook into a world of mathematics and as a result he invented a unique method of translating numbers into beautiful patterns - a method he calls Multicolour Maths. After being featured on BBC news in 2025, and plunging into the conferences of the British Society of Research into Mathematics, he took his invention to the mountains...all the way to Everest base camp.

Maths Up The Mountain follows his journey through the Himalayas and explores the thoughts and ideas he scribbled down along the way. Thoughts and ideas that turned into a 40,000 word essay which is now leading him to his first peer reviewed paper...

The documentary will be followed by a short preview performance of a new musical idea (obviously) called 'The Mathemusical'.
