A gig held at Moor Beer Co on Thursday 3rd July. The event starts at 19:45.

MAANTA RAAY (NASHVILLE, US)

MAANTA RAAY are a riff-slinging trio from Nashville whose self-titled debut on No Sabes delivers a heady blend of scorched psych rock, kraut-influenced rhythms and garage-born grit. Drawing on the raw power of Leigh Stephens, Jaki Liebezeit’s motorik pulse, and the experimental instincts of Daphne Oram, they fuse thunderous riffs with droning tempos and warped sonic textures.

Made up of ex-members of Quadrajets, Immortal Lee County Killers, and Modern Convenience, the group—Mason Hadley (bass), Carlos Ortiz (drums), and Chet Weise (guitar/vocals)—bring an instinct for chaos and control in equal measure. They’ve already shared stages with the likes of Earthless, Boris, Minami Deutsch, Melvins and Napalm Death, and their music captures that same sense of danger and propulsion.
