8-bit Night at Mothers' Ruin

A gig held at The Mothers Ruin on Thursday 22nd May. The event starts at 20:00.

****FREE ENTRY****

A night of 8-bit/Chiptune/Electronic music made on old video game consoles!

Fresh from the morgue, Tommy Creep comes armed only with two Nintendo Game Boys creating a bloodbath of ghoulish 8-bit bass music! Eerie-theremin leads and lo-fi screams lurk between monster basses and voodoo drums!

Alone is a musical mad scientist, whose lab consists of NES consoles mangled with Game Boys, delay pedals, loops of guitar and samples. All of these ingredients are spliced together into a wholly pleasant audio experience that touches on post rock, classic electronica and chiptune.

Dance or DIE! (Or nod in appreciation) The VIRUS Empire combines lo-fi, retro technologies with modern production tools to create super-infectious, mega-danceable chipmusic!

From the deep, dark depths of Southampton comes J3wel; bringing his bouncing, old-school, happy, hyper-Game Boy-chiptune!

Klum makes experimental electronic music using a launchpad, synthesisers, guitars and pretty much anything he can get a sound out of to paint melodic soundscapes dripping with atmosphere.
