Digsby is a five piece from Bristol, whose sound has been described as ‘sophisticated retro-pop’, combining indie rock, folk, blues and alt-country work with catchy melodies, three-part harmonies with 60s and 70s inspired song writing. The band’s debut EP, ‘Started’ was received very well by the media, with multiple songs played on BBC Introducing West, as well as BBC 6 musics’ Tom Robinson’s Fresh on the Net (‘Doubling Down’ was one of the top tracks of the week). Recent single ‘E Forever’ was featured as the ‘big new sound’ on BBC Bristol , with the following single ‘One of a Kind’ receiving airplay in the UK and internationally, and enthusiastic press reviews.
Supporting Digsby we have Passing Ships, they combine a classic American FM radio sound with the scratchy, wooden sounds of the late 60's folk scene. You might think of Tom Petty, Crosby Stills and Nash or The Beach Boys when you hear the lush vocal harmonies. Then mandolins, electric guitars and hammond organs fill out the authentic vintage sound that also reflects the band's songwriting. Topped off with unexpected covers that will blur the lines with the band's original songs, Passing Ships promises a truly old school experience, transporting listeners back to a time before autotune and sampling!
