ANIMO
ANIMO is a rising neo-soul band from Austria and the UK, known for their intricate arrangements, rich harmonies, and contemporary sound. Since their formation in 2019, the quartet has established itself as an innovative force in the genre, blending elements of jazz, R&B, and soul into a distinctive musical identity.
In 2022, ANIMO released their debut album Impress Yourself, receiving positive feedback for its dynamic compositions and expressive performances. The band followed up with a self-produced music video for Amsterdam, further showcasing their artistic vision.
March 2025 marks the beginning of their Austrian tour in support of their second studio album, Superhuman. The album explores themes of societal pressure, perfectionism, and the pursuit of self-optimization—an introspective yet powerful statement on modern social interaction.
Founded by bassist and bandleader Alexander Figl, ANIMO features vocalist Miriam Schmid, guitarist Christoph Kuntner, and drummer Christoph Pfister. Each member is an accomplished musician in their own right, actively performing in Austria’s and UK’s music scene. However, ANIMO remains their most personal and collaborative project—an artistic endeavor that allows them to push creative boundaries while staying true to the essence of neo-soul.
