King Solomon began as a song-writing project by Kingsley Salmon in 2010 with an aim to produce original UK reggae music. Massive influence from Jamaican and British reggae artists have contributed to this new sound. Artists like Gregory Isaacs, Alborosie, Alton Ellis, Black Roots, The Skints, Restriction and even a little bit of early UB40.
Since starting out in 2011 the original band (Dredge, Rob and Adam) has changed a lot! Starting out playing covers in small dives the band quickly added extra members by getting another guitar player (Pan) who also turns out to be pretty handy at a lot of other instruments too! after adding a trumpet player, (Martin) synth wizard (Buff) and rapper (Lewis) the band has gone on to write their own original music and discovered their own unique sound helping to gain the reputation of being one of the best live acts around with their deep dub basslines and pumping grooves packing out venues and eventually leading to the band headlining local festivals building their fan base constantly. in early October the band played live on local radio station AIR FM with great feedback! In late October the band released their first single"Monsters Ball" on AIR FM for Halloween and has been played on Code South FM in Brighton since. They have traveled along the south coast during 2014 hooking up with cool bands and people, spreading the sounds and as the summer approaches the band are ready to unleash their first E.P State of Emergency. which is due out July 2014
