A
gig
held at Mr Wolfs
on Monday 11th December. The event starts at 20:00pm.
Matt Finucane: Brighton based singer/writer/horror freak Matt Finucane takes his influences from Lou Reed, Mark E Smith and horrible electronic noise (despite primarily performing on acoustic guitar), and is happy to be “an explorer and purveyor of the wonderfully unconventional and confrontational”, as Ringmaster Reviews wrote.
He's DIY-released two albums and is working on more recordings, with no plans to join the real world any time soon.
“Matt’s mad quirky sh*t is great. It’s like pitching Gruff Rhys against Bowie via Nick Nicely’s ‘Hilly Fields’.” (Shindig Magazine)
Charlie Limm (Patchwork Skies): Folk musician who has recently left London and headed back to the south west. An acoustic folk singer with just voice and guitar, playing mostly originals with some folksy covers thrown in. She has recently finished a UK tour supporting the band Apples I'm Home on their debut album launch, performing all over the country en route to the Edinburgh Fringe and has performed solo on the London folk scene also.
She is also part of a folksy duo called Patchwork Skies for 5 years, in which she sings, play flute and guitar. They recently performed at Bromsgrove Folk Festival and had their song 'Through the Dark' featured on BBC Radio Introducing Norfolk. They have also performed at prestigious venues around London over the years, such as The Troubadour, The Bedford, Acklam Village and Battersea Arts Centre.
Chris Garcia: Folk-rock musician based in Bristol. Having just released his debut EP 'First Light' he's fresh on the scene and will be performing on the Bristol circuit this Autumn. With influences from Bon Iver, Bjork and Ben Howard, his EP and live shows promise an ambient folk exploration.
The song 'White Sea' is the only single from Chris Garcia's debut EP 'First Light', released in late summer, 2017. Produced by James Saget and mastered by John Cordy. The visual adaptation of the track was created by director Jonny Dry, videographer Lewis Gillingham and stars Aimee Lou. The project entailed exploration of various Cornish beaches and the simple joys in life.
