A
gig
held at Mr Wolfs
on Saturday 16th March. The event starts at 21:00.
The Jamestown Brothers are a high energy, foot stomping original indie-folk band from Somerset, UK. Formed in 2017 by singer-songwriter Colin Batchelor, the line-up of guitars, trumpet, piano, bass, drums, fiddle, recorder and trombone create a huge sound - guaranteed to get the crowd jigging.
The band plays original songs influenced by folk, country and Americana, with lyrics deep rooted in the rich history and social tapestry of Great Britain and Ireland. 2019 saw the release of their EP ‘Singing for our Supper’, followed up in August 2020 with their acclaimed album ‘Rebels, Rogues & Regrets’. Bookended by rousing historical pieces; ‘Cut Em Down’ tells the story of the Peterloo Massacre and ‘Long Walk Home’ is a call to join the Jarrow March.
Following a busy year of touring the album to venues and festivals in the UK, 2023 looks set to be even bigger with the release of the foot tapping, glass raising, earworm ‘Big Parade’, the lead single from their latest rousing EP ‘Just Is’. Don’t forget to pack your dancing boots, you’re going to
need them!
