A
gig
held at Mr Wolfs
on Thursday 11th April. The event starts at 21:00.
MOUNT ZOOKA
Mount Zooka gave five of their songs to AI to analyse and not a single band was mentioned more than once, which suggests Mount Zooka are either completely unique, or they sound like lots of different bands. Here is a selection of artistes the machine spat out: Viceroy, The Orchids, M. Ward, Placebo, Grateful Dead, Paul Simon, The Inmates, G. Love & Special Sauce, The Honeycombs, Craft Spells, Yeasayer, Parquet Courts, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and The Futureheads. Far be it from Mount Zooka to disagree with our soon-to-be robot overlords, but some of those seem like a bit of a stretch. Mount Zooka think they sound more like something you remember from a dream you once had where you were on Who Wants to be a Millionaire, but Chris Tarrant had turned into a giant toad and your phone-a-friend went through to hold music. Yes, Mount Zooka play the hold music of your dreams.
INTRUSIVE
“Initially hailing from South Wales and now rocking across the South West of England, Intrusive are a young, fast riff rock band whose sound is inspired by many a different artist. Pulling influence from genres such as rock, blues and funk, then when combined with a touch of heavier elements gives you the Intrusive sound. Always focusing on the feel of their music and ensuring that each song brings something different from the last, the passion these guys have for their music speaks for itself”
