For our first band of the year, we have Matuki!
Matuki are a 12 piece Afro-beat band that fuse traditional Gambian rhythms and storytelling with more modern styles of West African Dance Music and Funk. Lead by master Drummer/Singer Ebou Sanyang and supported by the incredible Kora player Suntou Susso, they utilise tuff basslines, pulsating drumming, soaring harmonies and sizzling horns. They are firm festival favourites and have played at Glastonbury, Shambala, Love Box, Secret Garden Party, Valley Fest, Farmfest, Elderfields, Common Ground, Kendall Calling and Green Man as well as many other events and parties across the U.K.
