Banner Theatre presents A Just Transition: Jobs, People, Planet at On The Hill

A event on Thursday 23rd July. The event starts at 19:30.

Banner Theatre return with a powerful and thought-provoking production exploring the connection between climate justice and workers’ power. A Just Transition: Jobs, People, Planet brings together live music, song, and filmed interviews to share real stories of collective action, worker-led resistance, and practical solutions for a greener future.

Through inspiring examples and urgent, hopeful storytelling, the production shows how a fair transition to a climate-friendly world is not only possible, but necessary. The show includes the story of the GKN workers in Italy, who occupied their factory and worked with climate activists to develop plans for socially useful, green production, as well as the 50th anniversary of the Lucas Plan, when aerospace workers in the 1970s created more than 150 proposals for alternatives to arms production.

Banner Theatre is a Birmingham-based multidisciplinary performing arts company with more than 50 years of experience collaborating with and representing the real lives of working-class people in struggle through music, theatre, storytelling, oral history, interviews, and video montage.
