Intro to stand-up comedy - at Online

A event on Monday 6th July. The event starts at 19:00.

This fun, inclusive online course will take for 4 Monday evenings, online (7-9 UK time) on 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th July.

We‘ll generate tons of material, chat about the open mic scene and beyond, and work on your confidence. Participants will come away with a honed 5 minute set.

There‘s no pressure, but early on you will be encouraged to research open mic comedy nights near you, with the hope that you can book your first gig before the final session.

The course is run by experienced comedian, writer and tutor Amy Mason, Chortle Breakthrough Act nominee (Free Mason , Behold!)
Amy’s most recent show was one of the best reviewed of Edinburgh Fringe (British Comedy Guide) and her tv projects have been in development with BBC Studios, Clerkenwell and Hat Trick. Amy’s run writing workshops across the UK for 15 years and she has trained with Soho Theatre and Central School of Speech and Drama. As well as two acclaimed stand-up hours, Amy has made three solo theatre shows all produced by Bristol Old Vic. Amy has an MPhil in writing and her novel The Other Ida won the Dundee International Book Prize, and she’s particularly good at helping people tell stories and hone structure. Amy has appeared on Radio 4, Radio 1, and multiple times on Radio 6, as well as writing for The News Quiz, The Now Show, and Hypothetical.
