SCREENINGS
I Hate Helen // comedy by < u>Katie Lambert< /u>
This multi awarded short, screened at BFI Flare, is a snapshot of teenage life, a short film about the tidal wave of gay lust some girls feel in school and letting those feelings just wash over you. But our protagonist Priya isn’t going without a fight. She hates Helen, and she hates the way she is feeling.
This film is a love letter to being confused and angry. It’s about swimming and being a little pervert while trying to study for your GCSES. The film was made this with a queer crew around South East London and they are delighted with this heartfelt mess of a result.

Amen // stop motion by < u>João Destro< /u>
A deep and introspective analysis of Joao's relationship to the Catholic God they grew up worshipping. Guilt, shame, and repressed desires are the themes explored, specifically in relation to being gay, and dealing with the internal conflicts that it creates.

And they were roomates // comedy by < u>Maria Bors< /u>
In this mockumentary comedy set in the 19th century, a narrator attempts to document the “perfectly platonic” lives of two women living together. As their unmistakably romantic relationship unfolds on camera, increasingly desperate narration and absurd animated “corrections” try to rewrite what the audience can clearly see.
