Events on Saturday 10th December
“We're under attack from all sides, and we need radical ideas and community more than ever. At the bookfair, you'll find new and second hand titles, kids books, novels, calendars and more from radical publishers, zine makers and activists. Plus stalls from local campaigns groups and free talks in the basement room. Plus vegan hot dogs, cakes, snacks, hot drinks, mulled cider, and beers available from the
Exchange cafe. There will also be a small, self supervised kids space with books and toys.”

“This guided session in our hidden screen print studio - The People's Printshop - will gently introduce you to the art of screen printing. We'll provide a selection of screens ready to print radical imagery, slogans, and lettering to spell out your own message, and take you through the process of printing them onto a tote bag*, ready to take away at the end of the session.”

“The synare was a staple in a lot of post punk, dub and disco production in the 70s through the 80s. You can hear it in loads of tunes by Joy Division, Scientist, The Cure, Depeche Mode, the iconic Jah Shaka sound system scene in the film Babylon(1980) and a tonne of disco tunes too. Once you start noticing the Synare hits you won’t stop finding them. Legend has it you could pick it up in 70s Argos for cheap. And now the original synares are selling for nearly £800.”

“It is time for another round of our Lucia celebrations, and we are hoping to spend a cosy Saturday evening together with a Lucia celebration, glögg (Swedish mulled wine) and ginger bread, as well as a little Christmas bazar.”

“'The Musician; The Storyteller' night is back! A nourishing evening of music, stories and more, all celebrating community and the power that stories have to build and bond us. I am thrilled to bring together a wonderful, diverse mix of performers, all sharing their passion and talent for creativity and bringing people together in solidarity. All money raised will go to the Blue Marine Foundation (an amazing charity committed to protecting our oceans by addressing over-fishing and creating protected marine reserves) and Long Covid Kids(a fantastic foundation that is dedicated to providing support and research for long Covid sufferers).”
