A event on Sunday 27th September. The event starts at 16:00.
INTARSIA: COALESCE is a single evening, high production cultural showcase that places an independent designer runway alongside a live music programme with an internationally-recognised headliner (TBA), choreographed dance performances from Team England captains and visual art installations from local talent. It is the founding chapter of an annual platform, and the opening argument for a Bristol Fashion Week that does not yet exist.
Bristol is one of the most creative cities in the UK. It has a globally recognised music heritage, a thriving independent design community and a dance scene that exports talent nationally. However, fashion designers in this city rarely get a runway of this scale. Musicians rarely get lighting, sound and staging at this level. Dancers rarely get a platform outside their own community. This event exists to close all three gaps in one night, and then to do it again every year.
Event Director Teddy Good said:
"Bristol has everything a fashion week city needs except the fashion week. The designers, the models, the venues, the music, the dance, the audience. Nobody had put it in a room of this scale... yet. We are not calling this a fashion week. We are calling it the proof that Bristol should have one. INTARSIA is the platform. COALESCE is chapter one."
Intarsia is the craft of setting separate pieces into one surface until they read as a single image: A full runway presentation from independent designers, a live music bill, choreographed dance performances and art installations, all staged as one continuous, lighting led piece of theatre.
Tickets available from Bristol Beacon.
