VooKoo Presents:
Freshly Cut Grass
FIRST FRIDAY LIVE
AT THE SOUTHBANK CLUB

Chapter 5 in this exciting monthly live music series called FIRST FRIDAY LIVE by VooKoo sees the incredible...

Freshly Cut Grass
Made up for a mix of Jazz and Classical players from the Royal Welsh College of Music. The band’s first album ‘Topiary’ was recorded entirely remotely with each member recording at their own homes.
Expect a huge sounding show with genre bending music. Freshly Cut Grass draw influences from Frank Zappa, Snarky Puppy, Chicago and The Band but to name a few. They bring a vintage groove based rhythm section under exploratory guitars and innovative horns creating an ‘old sound in a modern life’.

Oli Morris
An upcoming composer and saxophonist based in Bristol, UK. Born in Northridge, California, Oli relocated to Bristol and threw himself into the local music scene by frequenting and hosting local jam sessions. His sound has been described as punchy and upbeat and conversant with many different aspects of the jazz genre (Derek Nash - Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra).
Oli released his sophomore single Flyer on 29th April. Inspired by his Californian roots, Flyer is nostalgia-tinged, beautiful and unrelenting. Featuring some of the best musicians of Bristol’s jazz scene it’s astrong contributor to the burgeoning local jazz scene.
This release came a week before his feature on EMELI SANDÉ’S upcoming album, Let's Say For Instance, and promised to be his strongest songwriting endeavour yet.]
