Wild Style is the legendary 1983 American hip hop film directed and produced by Charlie Ahearn. Regarded as the first hip hop motion picture,it includes appearances by seminal figures such as Fab Five Freddy, Lee Quiñones, Lady Pink, The Rock Steady Crew, The Cold Crush Brothers, Queen Lisa Lee of Zulu Nation, Grandmaster Flash and ZEPHYR. The main focus is on a group of young graffiti artists but hip hop's 3 other pillars are well represented by performances by real life DJ's, MC's and breakers.
About Us: Freestyle Bristol & Bris-Story presents The 4 Pillars Bristol: a series of multi arts events as part worldwide festivities to mark the 50th anniversary of hip hop. We are bringing it back to the original four pillars of hip hop to celebrate the culture and the impact it’s had on our city.
A programme of events that will celebrate Hip Hop’s 50th birthday and an exploration of how it helped influence and left a lasting legacy on Bristol’s culture. Part of Bristol’s Summer Film Takeover by Bristol City of Film.
