Internal Weather System at St George's Bristol
See event details

A gig held at St George's Bristol on Saturday 1st July. The event starts at 12:00.

Live collaborative creation and improvisation between musicians and poets exploring themes of mental and physical health: our Internal Weather Systems. This covers all things health: physical health, mental health, invisible illness, chronic illness, long covid, body image, disability, caring for loved ones who live with any of the above – anything and everything.

We ask for submissions from all over the world and then, through a combination of musical improvisation, atmospheric field recordings and soulful vocals, we transform the poetry into sonic pictures of memories and moments.

The Open Collab project began in April 2020 as a monthly livestream aiming to help us remain creative and collaborative throughout the time of separation in lockdown. We’ve worked with poets from all across Bristol and around the world, creating genre-defying musical universes to fill living rooms everywhere, and now the wonderful space of the Glass Studio at St George’s.
