A gig held at St George's Bristol on Saturday 10th July. The event starts at 20:00.
Six fiddlers. Six traditions. One stage.
Sam Sweeney · Patsy Reid · Jock Tyldesley · Clémence Cognet · Mia Marine · Flora Curzon
Bringing together six of the world’s finest fiddle players, this special concert celebrates the remarkable diversity, depth and expressive power of the instrument.
With music from Swedish, French, English, Scottish, French, American and Klezmer traditions, each fiddler will offer a glimpse into the musical heritage that has shaped their playing. Together, they will create a fascinating portrait of the fiddle across six traditions, revealing each one’s distinctive character and, perhaps, some shared musical roots that connect them.
It is a rare opportunity to hear musicians of such calibre and range gathered in one place, performing in the beautiful acoustic setting of St George’s.
An evening dedicated to the small but mightily expressive instrument at the heart of so many musical traditions around the world: the fiddle.
Six Fiddles is the headline gig of Bowlines, the brand-new, inspirational weekend for fiddle players to come together, develop their craft and discover new musical horizons.
