Fonseca had already released three albums when in early 2000s he joined legendary Buena Vista Social Club touring with legends such as Omara Portuondo. He has since continued to expand his solo repertoire with Grammy Nominated Yo, ABUC, and an acclaimed live collaboration with Fatoumata Diawara.

He latest album Yesun released in 2019 'presents a Cuba without borders' says Fonseca. 'I'm building bridges between my Afro-Cuban traditions and other styles of music and doing some of the crazy things I love doing live.'
